Medicines Policy

New Zealand needs a new medicines policy to propel us into the future. 

New Zealand's current medicines strategy is 13 years old and the current plan expires this year. It is out of date and out of touch with modern developments. It is time for a new one. Medicines were not included in the Review of Health and Disability Services, so we have proposed a new generation medicines policy to try and synch up. 

The New Zealand Institute of Economic Research (NZIER) have produced a discussion paper for Medicines New Zealand in order to look at what kinds of leadership, funding, services, workforce and technologies are needed to support optimal use of medicines for better health outcomes for New Zealanders.
